I like to consider myself a pretty fit person and am always ready to take on new physical challenged. I tried ice skating for the first time this week. It hurt! The muscles were sore for days afterwards. I really was surprised that just how sore they were given the wide range of physical activities that I now do. This was not a soreness from and injury, it was purely a soreness from the muscles just not used to being used in the way that ice skating. There is a precautionary tale in this. If you are not used to an activity, regardless of your level of fitness, you need to take it easy to allow the muscles to adapt to it. if you don’t, then that will be an injury.
